Week 15--Wiki's
Used a Wiki on the Angel online class management system. Had students do definitions and give examples and others in the class commented or added their own example.

Week 14
Always a challenge to figure out how to use the material covered in the library, but lots of great ideas. NOw just need some time to follow up on those.

Week 13 Slide Sharing
Shared vacation slides with friends who had spent a couple of days with us. Made it much easier to do so with flicker.

Week 12 Screencasting
Used this to present information on the state online databases. Made it simpler to walk students thru the process.

Week 9--Instant Messaging

We have Ichat at work and that makes it nice to ask a quick question. Of course, sometimes the instant isn't so instant if they are away from their desk or doing another task--but it is quicker than leaving a phone message.

Week 8--In the clouds
I have used Google Docs as a wonderful way to share documents from home to school and from student to student. It makes it easy to gather information and put it all together.

23 Things: Microblogging
I have used Twitter for awhile as an announcement board. It is easy to do, but I'm not sure how effective it is as we don't have many followers. I started to follow a couple of Kansas Librarians from the list and Lance Armstrong. I wanted to see how other librarians are using it and I am interested in Armstrong's comeback in the biking world.

It is an easy way to stay in touch, but again not sure how to really get the most out of it by getting folks to follow this.

Week 6: Delicious
I used Delcious in my previous life as high school librarian and it was a life saver. I could share websites with students easily. I am now using it also with Tech College students and instructors. It not only organizes the sites, but makes it so easy for teachers to add new sites as they find them for students to use.

23 Things: Week 5
I used Google Reader to add RSS feeds. I chose this because I like keeping the items within the Google site.
I did a Google search for RRS feeds and found a feed that talks about Library Grants from Enoch Pratt Library and then also subscribed to a travel one for Australia. HOpe to get there one day.

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

23 Things Week 3:
I "attended" Technology Essentials and was especially interested in the Grant portion of this. It was hosted by WebJunction. I was pleased with being able to do this on my time and not have to spend a couple of hours with drive time to attend.

I do miss face to face opportunities, but think that will improve with more video meetings. As technology improves, this will probably become a more valuable resource and way to learn about new things.

23 Things
Week two:
I choose Facebook. I have used it to stay in touch with friends and share pictures. Currently, I don't think I'll use it much for the library setting. We don't have enough follwers.
